Asa cum spuneam, phrasal verbs se impart in doua mari categorii: transitive si intransitive.
Iata un exemplu: „look forward to”.
„I am looking forward to the inauguration .”
Nu putem spune: „I am looking forward to”.
“get ahead – a avansa, a face progres”
“Our manager was an assistent at first, he worked hard to get ahead.”
In articolul de astazi vom vorbi despre separable phrasal verbs.
1. The object can stay after the following phrasal verbs or it can separate the two parts:
- You have to do this homework over.
- You have to do over this homework.
- When the object of the following phrasal verbs is a pronoun, the two parts are separated:
- You have to do it over.
